Lewis

Rachael will guest star in the new series of ITV drama "Lewis". The series begins this Sunday on ITV1 at 9pm, and the series will last for four episodes. No idea yet which episode she'll be in, so just to be on the safe side, we'll record them all! All we know so far is that her character's name will be Zoe.

Boy Meets Girl

The news today is that Rachael will be starring alongside Martin Freeman in a new four-part ITV drama, Boy Meets Girl, which is currently filming in Manchester and will be broadcast on ITV later this year. She will play Veronica alongside Martin Freeman's character Dan.

Dan and Veronica's lives are entwined one day when they both get struck by lightning and take on each other's personalities. A source said: "The storyline then follows a hilarious sequence of events where Dan and Veronica go to incredible lengths to try to regain their identities. Dan certainly has to get in touch with his feminine side."

I'm glad to see something else in the pipeline for Rachael, and this time a lead role by the sounds of things. She has also recently finished filming on The Young Victoria (details still to be added to this site) in a supporting role.

I have been working behind the scenes on creating a brand new version of the site, which will be much easier for me to maintain. Watch this space as I'm hoping to have the new site ready within the next few weeks. I can't possibly make any more excuses for not updating, so I will continue to update here with any news of Rachael, but will not be adding any new photos/articles until the new site is up and running.

More apologies (this is getting old, isn't it?)

This site isn't dead. Neither am I. Just wanted to clarify that as it's been over five months since I last updated this place. I'm incredibly sorry about that, but I've just been really busy with work, home, and life in general.

Claire and I finally tied the knot in August, so that took a lot of planning and preparation, even though we didn't have a big wedding. We had a really wonderful day and are so happy. We've also continued work on renovating our home (an ongoing project now in its fourth year) and have both been working full-time. There hasn't been much actual "free time" in our lives, which is why the site has suffered. This past week I've been unwell and off work, so I planned to spend some time working on the site, but it just didn't happen as I felt too ill.

The site will be updated at some point. I have new photos, new information, new screencaps, new articles to add. I've made the tiniest of updates this morning and added two new affiliates:

Girly Grub Aromatherapies, which goes against our usual choice of affiliate (normally associated with the entertainment world), but this is a new business set up by my friend Sheri and she's trying to publicise it. All of her stuff is home-made and natural.

Love 'n' Lemons, an excellent fansite dedicated to actress Elaine Cassidy, who starred alongside Rachael in The Truth and was also one of the two leads in the Sarah Waters adaptation Fingersmith. Claire and I both love Elaine as well, so we're keen to promote Zeph's wonderful site. It puts ours to shame as it's so well maintained!

I'm hoping to re-design RS Online at some point, which will hopefully make it easier to update in the future. At the moment the inner workings of the site are complicated and messy, which makes the process of updating quite complicated and messy as well. I'd like to streamline it a bit and also re-vamp the actual site itself. I've had a few protests in the past when I've mentioned changing the design, and it's lovely that people like the current look of the site, but it's three years old next month (!!!) which is a very long time in the web design world. I think we need something a bit different.

So watch this space, but don't hold your breath for too long. ;) I'll get around to it eventually.

Another small update today. I have finally added the photos from The Taming of the Shrew, which you can now see in the gallery. I should really have done more than this but it's just a case of finding the time and energy at the moment. I'll have to see how I go. Once I get caught up then it shouldn't be hard to maintain the site, but it's the catching up that's proving difficult at the moment! I'm going to try to update in short little bursts so as not to get bogged down.

I've also just added a few new interviews/reviews/features.

I really hope that at some point I'll find the time to re-vamp this site. Doing so will aid me greatly as the way it's set up at the moment makes updating a bit more difficult than it really should be. I'm hoping to set up WordPress as a proper content management system, rather than just using it as an updates blog as I am at the moment. It will make the site much more interactive as well, allowing for people to comment on individual articles. Again, it's just about finding the time, but I'm looking forward to doing it!

Thank you to Belyn for sending many of the new pictures to me. :)

New reviews

Hello stranger! Er, and by "stranger" I mean "this website". I haven't been around much lately as I recently started a very busy new job (which is getting busier by the day) and I've been going through all sorts of personal stuff. This poor site has been sadly neglected, despite the fact that there's plenty of stuff waiting to be uploaded to it.

I've always been an "all or nothing" kind of girl, but I've admitted defeat this time and will be doing small updates here and there. I started yesterday by adding a load of theatre reviews for Rachael's latest two plays, Uncle Vanya and The Taming of the Shrew. You can still catch the latter at Wilton's Music Hall if you happen to be in London over the next month. It's running until the end of April. I wish we could see it but it's just not going to happen, unfortunately. Maybe one day Rachael will decide to do a play up north? I've updated the site with details of her latest plays.

Coming soon…

  • photos from Uncle Vanya
  • photos from The Taming of the Shrew
  • screencaps of The Haunted Airman
  • screencaps of The Truth
  • two new articles
  • a few new promo pictures
  • a general site tidy-up
  • … and eventually a re-design, but don't hold your breath.

I'm desperate to get this site in order — the hard part is finding the time!
