Broken links

I would like to apologise for any broken links or errors on the site at the moment. I am preparing the content for moving over to the new version of the site, so things will be a bit messy for a while. I’m really hoping to get the new version of the site up before the end of May, so please remain patient and hopefully things will be ready soon!

An update on how things are going

Just checking in to let you know that I have not forgotten about the site! On the contrary, I have been working on the re-vamp behind the scenes for a while now. It really is a complete overhaul so you'll appreciate that it takes some time. I am gradually transferring all of the existing articles, photos and other content over to the new version of the site, but this is a slow and exhausting process!

In Rachael news, Dangerous Parking is released in the UK on May 23rd. I don't yet know whether it'll be in cinemas nationwide or just a select few, but I'll keep you posted. I am really hoping to get the new version of the site up and running before the end of the month (in time for Rachael's 31st birthday, preferably!) but already I've run into several problems which have set me back days/weeks so we'll just have to see how things go.

In the end it'll all be worth it, as it'll make everything so much more straightforward to maintain from my point of view, and will mean I can update much more regularly. Thank you all for remaining patient while we get things sorted!

The marketing director has given me the date of May 23rd as a UK release date, with no US release date yet set.

Broken comments and new site version

It appears comments aren't working properly at the moment — apologies for that! I can't find the source of the problem, so it may be best to concentrate on getting the new version of the site up (comments definitely work with the new version!) and ask that if anyone wants to contact me, they can email me at mail[at]rachael-stirling.com, making sure they replace [at] with the @ symbol. ;)

I have been working on the new site every day, though it's slow work as I'm such a perfectionist. I spent a whole evening trying to work out the best way to design a single form — coding in valid XHTML and CSS whilst complying with web standards isn't the easiest of tasks, though it is quite good fun.

The new version of the site really will be much easier for me to maintain, as well as being a bit neater and cleaner than the current site. At the moment the dark colour schemes of the current site are hard for me to even look at for long, so I always switch off the colours in my browser. I'm aiming for a much more neutral and calming colour scheme.

I'm really hoping to get the new site up and running by the end of March, but I may run into April. It just depends on how many hours I can put in during the evenings and weekends. At the moment it's one of my top priorities though as it's been neglected for so long. Rest assured I am working on it. :)

Rachael in Lewis on March 9th

Just found out that Rachael will be appearing in the third episode of the current series of "Lewis". It's showing on Sunday March 9th at 9.00pm on ITV1. The episode is called "Life Born of Fire" and her character is called Zoe Kenneth.

Synopsis: Will McEwan, a member of the religious group The Garden, commits suicide in the church of the Reverend King, a founding member. It soon transpires Hathaway has personal information about the unfortunate man and was once good friends with him, but denies knowledge of his recent life. When the reverend himself, and two other leading figures in the group are found murdered, evidence points to a serial killer, and Lewis's sergeant seems to be his next target.

Let's hope she's not one of the victims!
