Another letter from Rachael Stirling

Letter from Rachael

We have received a second letter from Rachael Stirling, after writing to her in April with another set of questions, sort of like a fan interview. We got a great reply, which you can view here: Letters from Rachael Stirling.

Some interesting new bits of information in the letter, such as news of her new role alongside Ewan McGregor, and her new-found hobby. Read it to find out, and comment here with your thoughts!

Thank you, Rachael! :)

Bonnie (and all!), many thanks for putting together a second batch of questions for Rachael. And of course, many thanks to Rachael for graciously offering to respond to us again. She's the BEST for that! It was fun to read, and being a non-techie myself, I love that she hand wrote the whole thing. Lovely stuff, Rachael!
Again, thanks to everyone for putting this endeavor together.

I just (re)caught a bit of Tipping last night, and that amazingly raw work RS did when Nan discovered Kitty & Walter, and it made me curious about what she was doing presently, and that drew me to your site.

These letters are a great treat, and it nice to see that someone whose talent you admire is an interesting, smart and sassy person in real life. (I enjoy her fondness for the word "fuck" LOL)

Back in '86, I was in London and got to see Diana Rigg in "Follies" on stage (I actually went back several times during my trip. Great production).

The first time I was leaving the theatre after an afternoon show, and I happened to go around the back just as DR was leaving, with a very young Rachael in tow. There was a small gaggle of folks looking for autographs. I was caught unawares, so I fumbled to get my program out of my bag while DR quickly obliged the others.

I was too slow and even dropped the damn thing and DR was leaving, when young Rachael tapped her Mom's arm and gestured to me. Diana retraced her steps and came back to me and signed after all.

DR was a big influence on me growing up, so that was a big deal for me, to be able to stutter a few words of thanks and admiration for her work.

I was always touched by how aware and considerate Rachael acted that day. Especially as what, a nine year old? So I'm really happy to follow her work and see her having such an interesting career.

It's silly, but I feel somehow proud of her and how she's grown up. :)

Thanks for tending this site and all the work you do. I can see why Rachael is impressed with this site. It's very lovingly done w/ high professional standards.

Thank you so much for sharing your heartwarming story about 9 year old Rachael. She is still aware and considerate of us R-S online members. Please join us in supporting her on this website.
