Long time, no updates

Riot at the Rite

Could this be an update? Surely not! I would like to apologise for not updating in such a long time. I haven't been feeling great lately and have not really felt up to doing much, so I'm afraid the site has been a little neglected for a while. However, today I decided that I really did need to get it sorted as it's been such a long time since I added any new content. So what's new? Quite a few things, actually, although those of you who frequent the mesasge board will be aware of some of this stuff already.

To start with, I have added details of Rachael's new upcoming project. She has recently been cast in a brand new Fox (yes, Fox… so we're talking American!) TV drama series, entitled Beyond. We don't know very much about it yet, but it is apparently "a thriller set in NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab that chronicles the dawning of a new race to space, following an unspecified global crisis" — sounds intriguing, I must say! There'll be more information on that soon, I should think.

Several new photos have been added to the galleries recently, and can be found in various sections of the Promos, Snapshots, and Photo Shoots sections. I won't link to them all as there are quite a few, but they include recent photos from the Honour press night after show party, some promotional photos from A Woman of No Importance, Anna in the Tropics, and Riot at the Rite, and some old-ish photo shoot shots of Rachael wearing a rather fluffy coat. There's also a very lovely "new" photo of Rachael at the GLAAD Media Awards, which was in the Evening Standard recently (thanks Richard!) — so check out the galleries. I have also added two Riot at the Rite articles (one review, and one behind-the-scenes feature).

Another lovely article can be found here: Reading the Riot Act: The Ups and Downs of a TV Docudrama on The Rite of Spring. I have added a link to this article to the links section, as I didn't really want to copy and paste it into our archive. I tend to only do that with newspaper articles — this is more of a personal essay, I think, so I'd rather just link to it. It's a very interesting read, though.

In addition to that, Richard (thanks again!) sent me a copy of the Evening Standard from last month, which featured an article entitled Beauty Buyography. It's basically Rachael's beauty tips, including information about products she buys, where she has her hair done, things like that. So you can look and smell like Rachael, if you get all the right products! ;) Another article I've added is a small piece in which Rachael talks about her character in The Murder at the Vicarage.

There have been a few new items added to the Downloads section, too. The French and Saunders parody of Tipping the Velvet, aptly titled Tippin' O' the Velveteen, plus I have finally got around to trimming and uploading Episodes 11 and 12 of the BBC Radio 4 drama The Pallisers, in which Rachael starred as Mary. They are both available (in full) on the site now.

Finally, I'd like to remind all of our UK visitors that they should listen and watch out for two things this evening! At 6.15pm on BBC Radio 4, Rachael will be appearing as a guest on the talk show Loose Ends. The programme lasts until 7pm. Then, at 9pm, what we've all been waiting for… Riot at the Rite will finally be airing on BBC Two! Of course, we will be recording both of these programmes this evening. We'll provide an audio copy of the radio interview and I'll probably transcribe it, too, for the interviews section. I will also be screencapping Riot at the Rite as soon as possible.

I think that's all for now! Oh, and please come and join us at the message board if you haven't already!

I, too, enjoyed the Beauty Buyo. I thought it was really cute that she has bitten her nails all her life, but wants to manicure them now since someone told her she has lovely hands. hehe! and Eternity is a LOVELY fragrance, by the way!
