January release for The Truth
I think it's time for a little update, as I have a few small bits and pieces of news to report.
First of all, there is some good news regarding The Truth — it should be released in January 2006! There is no confirmed date yet, but I will post again once it's confirmed. This suggests that a distributor has finally been found and we can look forward to seeing Rachael on the big screen. Thanks to James for letting me know the good news!
Additionally, there was a small piece about Riot at the Rite in the new issue of the Radio Times, along with a picture of Rachael (though not in costume). There is no confirmed air date yet but I've heard rumours of it being in late October or early December. Let's just hope it isn't when we're in Bristol seeing her on stage!
I've just added a "new" interview to the site. It's actually just under two years old, but as it's from a regional newspaper, I hadn't come across it. There's a lot of stuff we've read before, but a few new bits, including an interesting comment about American and British film scripts:
"Much to my disdain, most of the best scripts are in Los Angeles. Over here, they're formulaic, either Richard Curtis or The Full Monty. In America, there's so much money pumped into writing."
I quite like Richard Curtis films myself and I enjoyed The Full Monty, too, but I do see what she means. I'd actually prefer to see her in the low-budget, interesting films, rather than the big blockbusters — however much I may enjoy some of the big films. I like that she's down-to-earth enough to realise that you don't need to be in top-budget films to be successful! Anyway, thanks to Maria for the link.
And last but not least, the episode of The Frank Skinner Show (in which Rachael appeared after Tipping the Velvet) will be repeated on the Paramount Comedy channel (UK) on October 5th at 12.35am, and then again at 1.35am on the +1 channel. I've added it to the calendar.
