This evening I have made another update to the gallery, and added a set of 126 screencaps from Rachael's recent appearance in Lewis, in the episode Life Born of Fire.

Sorry it's taken me a while to get these uploaded. I'm working through a backlog of stuff… one day I'll be completely up-to-date!
Let me know what you think of the screencaps.

I've been thinking quite a lot about Rachael's upcoming project, Boy Meets Girl. All of the articles draw attention to the fact that it stars Martin Freeman, possibly because he's the most well-known out of him and Rachael, but think about it for a minute:
"Love Actually star Martin Freeman is to play a scruffy DIY store worker trapped in the body of a glamorous female fashion journalist in a new comedy drama for ITV1. In Boy Meets Girl, Freeman plays Danny Reed, a scruffy DIY worker who wakes up after being struck by lightning to find himself in the body of Veronica Burton, played by Tipping The Velvet's Rachael Stirling. Beyond his initial struggles with lingerie and the advances of Veronica's boyfriend Jay, Danny is eventually faced with the choice of going back to his old life or finding his feet in the fashion world."
What does that tell you? It sounds to me as though it's Martin Freeman's character who has the struggles, but it's a body-swap drama. It can't actually be Martin Freeman — it's got to be Rachael, surely. I don't get it otherwise.
So why is this so heavily publicised as starring Freeman? Is it purely because he's a "proper celebrity" and is therefore is used in all of the publicity to draw viewers in, despite the fact that the main actor is Rachael? Or does he feature more heavily than that — perhaps with voiceovers? — and if so, surely the story is about Rachael's character, Veronica, rather than Martin's character, Danny. Or maybe it's equally balanced, and we'll see both sides of the story. I find it unusual, though, that the papers keep referring to Martin Freeman dealing with the fashion world / glamour / boyfriend, etc. rather than Rachael…
It's all a bit confusing, really. What are your thoughts?

I've been meaning to add the Uncle Vanya performance photos for a long time now, but as there were so many, and none of them were sorted into a logical order, I kept putting it off. Even after a few hours of sorting this evening, I am certain that some of them are out of order as far as the play is concerned, but at least the similar images are grouped together!

There are some lovely shots of Rachael in what was quite a highly-acclaimed play she did back in early 2007. I'm sorry it's taken me such a long while to add the photos! In addition to the performance shots, I have also added some images from the after party, attended by Dame Diana Rigg among others. Take a look at these in the Uncle Vanya section of the gallery.

Thank you very much to everyone who has commented on the re-design. I was really happy to get such positive feedback after an extremely busy few months getting everything ready! I'm pleased with the website and look forward to giving it the attention it deserves from now on.
In the first of many updates, I have added 7 reviews of Rachael's latest film release, Dangerous Parking, to the website. You can view them in the Press section under Reviews — all of them are dated April/May 2008.
The film appears to have had a mixed response from the critics, though I've not had the chance to see it for myself yet, due to its limited UK release. Has anyone else managed to get to the cinema and see Dangerous Parking yet? What did you think of it?
In any case, we won't have long to wait as the DVD is scheduled for UK release on 29 September 2008.

I never thought I'd see the day, but it appears that the brand new version of Rachael Stirling Online is finally ready to be launched! I can't quite believe I've finished the re-design and everything seems to be working okay, though of course it remains to be seen whether it will stand up to the visitors' tests without falling flat on its face. After all, I'm the only one who has been looking at it for the past goodness knows how many months!
The comments form is working again so I'd appreciate any and all feedback on the re-vamped website. As you'll be able to tell if you take a good look around, it's not just a re-design — it's a complete re-working of everything, including (and particularly) the gallery, which was in desperate need of a makeover.
Almost everything is now powered by WordPress with the help of numerous plugins. You can read plenty more about the inner workings of the site (if you're interested) in the site section.
There are lots of fancy new features, both for myself (from an administrative point of view) and for visitors. Please take the time to explore the website and please, please, please do not hesitate to let me know if you come across any errors, e.g. broken links or images, wonky borders, or anything else that looks a bit out of place. I haven't had the chance to go through every single page so I need for people to notify me of any issues, so I can fix them.
I will say now that the site has not yet undergone a full content update, so there are still a lot of images and articles to be added. I need something to update with, don't I?
So this update really is mainly about the re-design, and there'll be content updates coming soon, once I get past the initial post-launch troubleshooting! Arg!
However, one of the biiiiiiiiig content updates I did manage was a full re-vamp of the Tipping the Velvet screencaps gallery. It was a bit of a poor show that we only had 60 screencaps from Tipping, while I'd somehow managed to get over 80 from Riot at the Rite, which was a comparatively small project. So I spent a good few days re-screencapping the entirety of Tipping and we have a very substantial gallery now.
I hope there won't be too many troubles to shoot, and that you all like the new-look website.
