What's it all about? Peter Howitt — aka Joey Boswell from 80s TV series Bread — directs and stars in this film about hedonistic filmmaker Noah Arkwright.
Based on Stuart Browne's semi-autobiographical novel, this flashes back through Noah's decadent but ultimately tragic life as he struggles to give up drink and drugs.
What's good? There's rarely a dull moment in this lively comedy-drama: you can't help laughing at Noah's drunken exploits and crashingly insensitive manner.
Tom Conti is very funny as an eccentric doctor, too, although things take a moving turn when Noah is forced to confront his health worries.
The ending will leave you teary-eyed.
What's bad? The film's structure is all over the place, which can be both confusing and distracting.
And some scenes simply don't work.
OK! Verdict: Like its hero, this is rough round the edges, but funny enough to get by.

Just checking in to let you know that I have not forgotten about the site! On the contrary, I have been working on the re-vamp behind the scenes for a while now. It really is a complete overhaul so you'll appreciate that it takes some time. I am gradually transferring all of the existing articles, photos and other content over to the new version of the site, but this is a slow and exhausting process!
In Rachael news, Dangerous Parking is released in the UK on May 23rd. I don't yet know whether it'll be in cinemas nationwide or just a select few, but I'll keep you posted. I am really hoping to get the new version of the site up and running before the end of the month (in time for Rachael's 31st birthday, preferably!) but already I've run into several problems which have set me back days/weeks so we'll just have to see how things go.
In the end it'll all be worth it, as it'll make everything so much more straightforward to maintain from my point of view, and will mean I can update much more regularly. Thank you all for remaining patient while we get things sorted!
