I think it's time for a little update, as I have a few small bits and pieces of news to report.
First of all, there is some good news regarding The Truth — it should be released in January 2006! There is no confirmed date yet, but I will post again once it's confirmed. This suggests that a distributor has finally been found and we can look forward to seeing Rachael on the big screen. Thanks to James for letting me know the good news!
Additionally, there was a small piece about Riot at the Rite in the new issue of the Radio Times, along with a picture of Rachael (though not in costume). There is no confirmed air date yet but I've heard rumours of it being in late October or early December. Let's just hope it isn't when we're in Bristol seeing her on stage!
I've just added a "new" interview to the site. It's actually just under two years old, but as it's from a regional newspaper, I hadn't come across it. There's a lot of stuff we've read before, but a few new bits, including an interesting comment about American and British film scripts:
"Much to my disdain, most of the best scripts are in Los Angeles. Over here, they're formulaic, either Richard Curtis or The Full Monty. In America, there's so much money pumped into writing."
I quite like Richard Curtis films myself and I enjoyed The Full Monty, too, but I do see what she means. I'd actually prefer to see her in the low-budget, interesting films, rather than the big blockbusters — however much I may enjoy some of the big films. I like that she's down-to-earth enough to realise that you don't need to be in top-budget films to be successful! Anyway, thanks to Maria for the link.
And last but not least, the episode of The Frank Skinner Show (in which Rachael appeared after Tipping the Velvet) will be repeated on the Paramount Comedy channel (UK) on October 5th at 12.35am, and then again at 1.35am on the +1 channel. I've added it to the calendar.

We have some fantastic news to report! Thanks to the lovely E.B. (a regular visitor to this site) we have been informed of a new play in which Rachael will be starring in October and November. It is called Tamburlaine, and will run from October 7th-29th at the Bristol Old Vic, and then from November 9th-19th at the Barbican Theatre, London. This is the description from the Bristol Old Vic website:
"Captivating, charismatic and chillingly calculating, Tamburlaine is a man to admire and to fear. Obsessed with elevating himself from his humble origins, he conquers lands and women with brutality and charm. With the throne of Persia behind him, and an eye on the East, he offers us a dark vision of our own secret ambitions and desires. Unrepentant, utterly convincing and disturbingly compelling, Marlowe's stark epic masterpiece is a mirror of our modern world from the distant past."
Rachael will play Zenocrate, who is the daughter of the Soldan of Egypt. It sounds very different to everything we've seen her in before (in fact, each of her theatre roles has been quite different, which proves that she's flexible and can cope with a wide range of roles!) and I'm quite intrigued by it, especially having glanced at the script. From looking at the script it would appear that Rachael has a main part, which is fantastic, although I don't know much at all about the role. There are fifteen cast members in this particular production, and the only one confirmed on the theatre websites is Greg Hicks. However, information about Rachael's part in the play is included on her CV at PFD, which was last updated on September 17th.
I have added information about the play to the site, and this morning we booked our tickets for the Bristol Old Vic — with front row seats!
We could've waited until November, to see it in London, but we'd quite like a change of scenery and November isn't quite as convenient for us. We've decided to make it into a proper mini-break and stay in Bristol for three nights, seeing the matinée performance on a Saturday afternoon.
Tickets are now available from the Bristol Old Vic website (October 7th-29th) and the Barbican Theatre website (November 9th-19th).
Thank you again to E.B. for notifying us of this. I hadn't checked the PFD site in a while as it hadn't been updated in ages, so I'm really glad you did check it — we may have missed out otherwise.

I have recorded and uploaded a clip of the song Yesterday's Man from the ITV drama The Final Quest. The song is performed by the character Annabelle (played by Rachael) so it's another chance to hear her singing!
Additionally, we have heard that Riot at the Rite may be aired in November. This is just a rumour at present and we hope to have confirmation of this soon.

Thanks to a comment from the lovely Thel, I found out about an interview I hadn't yet read! It's from 2003 and was published in an American newspaper. I've now added it to the site.
Most of it is stuff we've heard before (except the fabulous part Thel mentioned about "clanking" Victorian sexy toys!) but one thing that's news to me is that Anna Friel and Samantha Morton were considered for the part of Nan. I didn't know that! Anna Friel was one of my first female celebrity crushes.
If anyone knows of any other articles we don't have archived here, please let me know!

No real news to report, I'm afraid. We've been keeping a close eye on the BBC listings to look for news of Riot at the Rite, but haven't spotted anything yet! I have added a few upcoming television appearances to the calendar on the left — two airings of Five Little Pigs in the US and one airing of Bait in the UK — and I've also updated the fanlisting after leaving it for about six weeks! Sorry for the delay with that.
I'm hoping that next time I post an update, I'll have something more interesting to report!
