When Jack Blake picks up a woman and her daughter stranded when their car breaks down, he is struck by the daughter's resemblance to his own murdered child. Jack sees an opportunity to unwittingly involve both women in a scheme which he hopes will unmask his daughter's killer.
The 2002 French and Saunders Christmas Special (Christmas Puddings) featured a parody of Tipping the Velvet, in which Dawn French played Nancy Boy French, and Jennifer Saunders played Titty Saunders. This is the clip of the parody, entitled Tippin' O' the Velveteen.
